Knowledge about how to prepare a CV is an important part of the job search and application process, and completion of this unit takes the young person step by step through the process. Throughout this unit we stress to the young person that the information they put on their CV is vital, as is the importance of building a comprehensive CV that gives the right impression when applying for a job.

 

At the end of this unit the young person will have a CV based around their skills and experience, and will have been shown all the important do’s and don’ts of putting together a really good CV.

 

Learning Outcomes

 

After completing this course, young people will:

 

§ Understand the purpose and types of CV and learn how to produce a chronological CV

§  Know how to arrange information in a CV in the best possible way

§  Have a first class CV ready for use, and know how to change and adapt their CV for different jobs
